1979 Moto Guzzi. 1979 Moto Guzzi 1000 SP. The five-speed transmission was overhauled (receipt included) and work included cleaning the inner gearbox housing and gear clusters, installing new clutch, and installing new bearings and seals. 1979 Moto Guzzi 1000 SP This 1979 Moto Guzzi 1000 SP was completely overhauled approximately three years ago, including rebuilding the air-cooled, two valves per cylinder 949cc OHV V-twin motor, new electrical system, new triple disc brakes, and telescopic fork cartridges. The five-speed transmission was overhauled (receipt included) and work included cleaning the inner gearbox housing and gear clusters, installing new clutch, and installing new bearings and seals. The driveshaft splines were lubricated, and the final drive oil was also changed. No expenses spared; only high end components used. Cylinder heads were rebuilt, new rings, barrels honed, gearbox was rebuilt, and the chassis and wheels were powder coated. Brembo brakes all around, and Dell’Orto PHF 30mm pumper carbs were installed and synchronized. Only 2,000 miles since the rebuild. This bike has been a Best-In-Class show winner but was built to be ridden. Two sets of keys included receipts and maintenance records. Additional items installed: Motogadget M-Unit and M-Button, Dyna III electronic ignition and coils, RAM clutch, Koni adjustable shocks, FAC fork cartridges, Corbin Gunfighter seat, Sump extension, Full stainless exhaust, police stand and center stand, Veglia Borletti Voltmeter, Battery tender lead, and other tasteful custom touches. New oil and other fluids replaced recently. Tires are in great condition, holding air and plenty of thread remaining. Stopping power is provided by new Brembo hardware that grip a pair of solid discs up front and a single disc out back. Magnum braided stainless-steel brake lines have been fitted front and back. Instrumentation consists of Veglia Borletti 160-mph speedometer and a matching Veglia Borletti tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a Veglia Borletti voltmeter, and an array of indicator lights (turn signals, HI/LO, generator, oil pressure). Bike is a rider and not museum perfect as shown in pictures. Only significant flaw is one tiny dent in the full stainless exhaust on right side, hard to spot. No warranties expressed or implied.
