I am the original owner of this motorcycle. I purchased this motorcycle new on February, 18, 1978 from Frank’s Cycle in Hudson Massachusetts. They were an authorized motorcycle dealer on Main St. in Hudson who sold Yamaha and Norton brands. Included in this sale is the original paperwork including the original invoice, owners manual, warranty brochure and vehicle statement of origin. Also included is the original dealer sales brochure, the November 1977 issue of Cycle Magazine featuring the RD400 on the front cover and the original genuine Service Manual. This motorcycle was last on the road in 1983. It has been stored in a controlled environment since them. For the last 25+ years, it has been on display in my house as a piece of motorcycle art….along with a 1970 Norton Commando 750 (which I sold approximately ten years ago). Please see the details below on the condition. Condition details: 5667 original miles Not run since 1983 so the motorcycle is in non-running condition. As noted above, this motorcycle has been on display for decades in my house. Clean title dated 4/7/78 in my name showing a 4 mile odometer reading. Engine kicks over nicely (see video). No battery in the motorcycle. The paint on the tank is nearly flawless. No dents. One little tick in the paint as pointed out by my finger in one of the pictures. Clean inside the tank. The only paint flaw is on the oil tank on the left side. (See last picture) Also, I had a tank bag installed and the buckle came loose and made some ticks in the decal and paint. You can’t see it unless you are up close to it. Original key including the “Franks ‘Cycle Hudson MA” leather pouch. This motorcycle is a rare survivor in all original condition with documentation. I will be moving and unfortunately I can’t take everything with me….so it is time to sell this classic motorcycle. LOCAL BUYERS WELCOME TO COME BY TO VIEW THE BIKE IN PERSON.
